Felderer pipe and duct systems: Leak-proof with system
Air conduction systems have the primary task of directing the air to the location of an air conditioning system where it is needed. Even today, it is by no means a matter of course that this is done with a high percentage of loss-free air according to the state of the art.

The withdrawn standard DIN EN 13779 was published in 2007 and defined air tightness class B as the general minimum requirement for air duct systems with increased air tightness requirements. Due to the increasing sensitization of all involved levels, starting with the standard committees, the technical planners, air duct manufacturers as well as the professional ventilation system construction, the tightness class C for demanding round air duct systems has prevailed for the most part.
With the publication of EN16798-3 in 2017, tightness class C or its successor ATC3 was now also listed as a normative recommendation.

If requirements exist according to a tightness test of the air duct system, it is also normatively intended to carry these out in the early assembly stage in order to influence the assembly process at an early stage if necessary. Special attention must be paid to the neuralgic points:
- delivered goods in perfect condition
- mounting material to meet requirements
- damage-free on-site storage as well as
- careful and professional workmanship.

The testing of an existing HVAC installation in situ according to EN 12237:2003 defines a minimum test surface of 10m² and at least 10% of the total line surface. In addition, the sample must have a representative selection of air duct dimensions and fittings. This section to be tested must be sealed professionally and airtight against the rest of the system.
The air tightness tester airLPT216 has been designed in such a way that all test requirements of EN12237 as well as EN1507 can be measured and recorded accurately and conveniently for the determination of the leakage air quantity for both round and rectangular air ducts. The airLPT216 can be used to test all air tightness classes of EN13779 and EN 1507 and EN 12237.
