Kienzler: Textile ventilation and their fields of application

When it comes to ventilation and air conditioning, most people think of voluminous round or square metal ventilation ducts. Kienzler Textile Ventilation GmbH, which has more than 30 years of experience in the ventilation and air-conditioning industry and has been focusing exclusively on textile and film air-conditioning components since 1993, proves that there is another way.
Advantages of textile ventilation solutions
Two big advantages of such components, which immediately catch the eye, are the low weight and the simple and fast installation. This saves a lot of time and money even at the installation stage. At the same time, regular cleaning and maintenance is made easier because the components are easy to dismantle and clean. This pays off especially in areas with higher hygiene and cleanliness requirements. Textile air hoses are usually 5-15m long, although lengths of 50m and more are quite common. The hose sections are a maximum of 10 m long and have a zipper. So a dismantling or exchange is also possible by only one person problem-free. The main advantage is the draught-free ventilation: due to the permeability of the textile material used, the air escapes at low speed over the entire surface. This guarantees a draught-free and permanently even distribution of the air over the entire cooling and heating load area.
Ventilation aspects
The hose material is permanently permeable. Inflowing air is evenly discharged into the room at low speed over the entire length of the hose. This means that there are no draughts and no outflow noises. The hose works over its entire length like a source ventilation. However, additional pores and slots in the hose allow the fresh air to be blasted specifically to places where it is needed. This is possible in the form of displacement or circulation ventilation. If necessary, appropriate actuators can be used to switch between source and targeted ventilation. In addition to preventing outflow noise, the textile material also dampens noise from the ventilation system and from the room itself.
Safety and hygiene
Ventilation ducts made of metal are admitted to have a certain resistance to fire from the outset. The opposite is more likely to be the case with textile materials. But the appearance deceives. Today there are possibilities to make textiles flame-retardant by applying appropriate chemicals. However, this has the disadvantage that this property is lost during cleaning or simply through aging processes. Kienzler GmbH is therefore taking a different approach. It only uses yarns from renowned German manufacturers that are permanently flame-retardant due to their manufacturing process (permanently integrated into the fabric fibre). Only in this way is it possible for the fabrics to be certified according to various fire protection standards.
The yarns and foils used have even more positive properties. They are resistant to environmental influences (light / UV radiation / microorganisms / insects) and chemicals (acids / alkalis / solvents). This means that the air conditioning components can also be used in areas with increased loads (e.g. animal sheds, chemical industry) or with increased requirements (laboratories, hospitals, pharmaceutical and food industry). All components of the hose assemblies are corrosion-resistant and there is no danger of condensation water forming through the micro openings. All components can also be made of stainless steel if increased corrosion resistance is required.
Design
Design aspects normally play hardly any role in ventilation technology. But that is also different here. The components can be offered in different colours according to the customer’s wishes. Even printing and embroidery is possible. The main purpose in embroidery is the quick assignment of textile air hoses during assembly in case of cleaning. Thus the ventilation technology can be either integrated completely inconspicuously into the interior design, or be used very noticeably as formative or werbliches element.
Application possibilities
Due to the positive properties mentioned, the application possibilities are almost unlimited. Especially since the air outlet effect of the hoses can be adapted to special customer requirements and different shapes, transitions and fittings are possible. In particular, laboratories and hospitals, the food industry, animal stables, but also commercial premises and offices as well as sports and leisure facilities are increasingly using textile air hoses. The comparatively low costs and simple installation make the textile ventilation solution particularly interesting for temporary facilities such as construction containers, marquees and emergency accommodation.
Kienzler makes the difference
The company deliberately develops and manufactures its products in Germany. The fabrics made of yarns are also “Made in Germany”, because this is the only way to guarantee a permanently high quality. The core competencies lie in advising customers and planning systems, in the flexible production of components to customer specifications and in the service area, right through to product cleaning. This approach is rewarded by the steadily growing number of customers who appreciate advice, high product quality and the best service. Die Felderer AG has been a successful sales partner of Kienzler Ventilation GmbH for many years. Together with Kienzler, we realize demanding projects, which are planned and produced according to the customer’s specifications in every application.
